军舰制造和民用船只制造的用途不同，所以用的钢材10CrNi3MoV性能也有很大区别。军舰执行的任务可能遭受炮弹、鱼雷攻击，所以用钢要考虑的是强度、抗裂纹敏感、如果是航母甲板用钢还要考虑耐高温、还有就是钢板的宽度尺寸。
民用船只只用来运输人员和货物，考虑的是安全舒适、稳定性和载荷、经济性等因素，所用钢材一般都要求符合几个主要船级社的要求就可以。
舰船在高速行进时，螺旋桨和舵板均有可能遭受含砂海水的冲刷及磨蚀．在停止运行时。则存在着海水中的静态腐蚀，各种因素共同作用的结果。决定了部件的使用寿命．对于螺旋桨材料的冲刷腐蚀、空蚀及磨蚀。
国内外研究较多.然而对于舵板材料的研究比较少．L907A、921A是常用的舵板材.

10CrNi3MoCu 代号922A 适用厚度36-70mm。
